To start, Rosa Parks walked to school each and every day due to countless laws prohibiting blacks to take the school bus to and from school. In the long run, she was forced to drop out of school to care for her elder grandmother. However, she had later earned her high school diploma. And, shortly after she became a secretary for NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) Moreover, she was arrested due to her resistance to the law. Ironically, Rosa was not the first person to be arrested for refusing to give up her seat. She was actually one of many. In addition to Rosa’s many accomplishments, she along with her brother Raymond, co-founded The Institute for Self-Development. Lastly, Rosa was the first women, and second African American to lie in honor at the U.S. Capitol Rotunda.
